BPV Program Benefits |
HRAI Members benefit from exclusive access to this program designed to assist Ontario contractors working on any large-scale air-conditioning or refrigeration piping systems with TSSA compliance and regulation.
Membership with the program includes a reduced TSSA Certificate of Authorization registration fee from $3,731 to $2,644 + HST. A renewal of the Certificate of Authorization is required by TSSA every three (3) years.
As a registered member, you will enjoy designated technical support at HRAI to help you with any difficulties you may have with the compliance process.
TSSA Approved templates and procedures include Quality Control Manuals, P-standard drawings and schematics and industry-generic brazing procedures.
As part of BPV compliance, your company is required to keep a copy of Quality Control Manual which is to reviewed by the TSSA inspector. HRAI’s BPV compliance program provides a copy of an approved Quality Control Manual template so that you company can easily create completed quality control manual from this template.
When you are working on a refrigeration/air conditioning piping that falls under the scope of BPV compliance requirement, you need to submit piping design drawings to TSSA’s design review and registration. HRAI provides a set of generic industry piping design drawings that have already been registered and approved by TSSA, which helps you in reducing time and costs associated with compliance.
HRAI provides a series of pre-registered industry-generic brazing procedures that are already registered with TSSA. You are advised to download these brazing procedures from HRAI’s BPV website, print out and keep them with company’s quality control manual for TSSA inspector’s review.
Currently, HRAI has the pre-registered procedure for copper to copper brazing (designed to cover tubing sizes of 3/8” O.D. to 4-1/8” O.D. for ACR pipes) but more are coming soon!
*Note: The piping design drawings are specific to the refrigerants that are used in the piping. If your project involves working with refrigerants other than the ones available in HRAI’s drawing library or these generic piping designs cannot be applied to your project, then the company will be responsible for preparation of the piping layout design and will need to submit the design to TSSA for its design review and registration.
